Trifibre are the preferred supplier of all types of Media for Magellan who manufactures body assemblies for Airbus planes.
Magellan approached Trifibre with a project to help them to reduce damage that was occurring and improve the logistics of moving large & fragile composite light weight machine parts from one part of their factory to the finish department at a separate location in the UK, before being shipped to France. Magellan had previously been experiencing a large volume of damage costing them £2m over a 12 month period so they required an effective solution.
Trifibre designed a metal fabricated Christmas tree concept, i.e a long central column with arms that stick out left and right. Longer arms at the bottom and shorter arms at the top. The design would also incorperate roller slides on the arms, so that they pull out even further to aid loading of the ribs onto the resting place with contact with units already loaded onto their resting place.
